Volunteer Application
There is no other volunteer organization like the Y. That's because we promise to deliver lasting personal and social change. Each of our volunteers helps deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater self-confidence and sense of security to all who seek it. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful and enduring change in your community. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including:
- Child Watch
- Special Events
- Junior Lifeguard
- Advisory Boards
- Greeter
- Special-Interest Committees
- Clerical Work
- Fundraising
- Swim Instruction Assistant
- Maintenance
- Custodial
- Youth Sports Coaches and Referees
- Y Guy
Below are the basic guidelines to getting started as a Family Y volunteer:
Ages 18 and older:
- Must complete and sign the volunteer application
- Must complete and sign the authorization to release information form located on the back of the volunteer application
- Must provide a copy of a photo ID, preferably a driver’s license
- Allow 5 – 10 business days for background checks to be completed
Ages 16 – 17:
- Must complete and sign the volunteer application
- Background checks are NOT required for anyone under the age of 18
Ages 15 and under:
- Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Are encouraged to work special events
Please return all volunteer applications to the community relations department. A representative will contact the applicant to schedule their volunteer opportunity.
