The Y is committed to ensuring access to all. Financial assistance, to the extent possible, is available for those needing assistance in paying for the full cost of a YMCA program or membership. All Y members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of scholarship assistance.
The YMCA is a nonprofit working to build communities where EVERYONE belongs through programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is a cause-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable programs and services to benefit people of all incomes and backgrounds in our community. These Y programs and services help make children, adults and families in our communities healthier and more connected in spirit, mind and body.
Thanks to the generous support of those who donate to the Y’s Annual Giving Campaign, funding is available to those who cannot afford the full fee and qualify for assistance. Eligible youth and families benefit from YMCA programs like Membership, Youth Sports, Swim Lessons, Afterschool, Summer Camp, and so much more. Financial assistance is not. a handout, but a helping hand.
How it Works: Those who receive financial assistance pay a portion of fees, while the covers the rest. The covered portion is based upon a sliding scale and the specific needs of the individual or family. Financial assistance is intended to be temporary, and participants will need to reapply for each program. Financial need must be demonstrated by providing financial documents which will be kept strictly confidential.
Apply for Financial Assistance: We encourage people to contact a local YMCA branch for application information. The process is simple and confidential. You can begin by downloading the application below.
