We can do so much more because of our volunteer base. Each of our volunteers helps deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater self-confidence and sense of security to all who seek it. When you volunteer at
the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful and enduring change in your community.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles including:

- Child Watch
- Special Events
- Junior Lifeguard
- Advisory Boards
- Greeter
- Special-Interest Committees
- Clerical Work
- Fundraising
- Swim Instruction Assistant
- Maintenance
- Custodial
- Exceptional Sports
- Youth Sports Coaches and Referees
- Y Guy
GUIDELINES FOR GETTING STARTED
Ages 18 and older:
- Must complete an online child abuse prevention course and provide certificate of completion.
- Must complete a drug test provided by the Family Y.
- Must complete and sign the volunteer application
- Must complete and sign the authorization to release information form located on the back of the volunteer application
- Must provide a copy of a photo ID, preferably a driver’s license
- Allow 5 – 10 business days for background checks to be completed
Ages 16 – 17:
- Must complete an online child abuse prevention course and provide certificate of completion.
- Must complete and sign the volunteer application
- Background checks are NOT required for anyone under the age of 18
Ages 15 and under:
- Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Are encouraged to work special events
