What is Augusta Duck Dash?

It’s a seriously fun event with a seriously important goal: save local infants from SIDS and make sure children have a safe place to sleep at night.

By supporting the Augusta Duck Dash on October 12, 2024, you are supporting the Family YMCA’s A Place to Dream program. Since 2017, the Family Y of Greater Augusta has provided 2,000 beds to children in need. In partnership with News 12 NBC 26 and Wellstar MCG Health, the Family Y is also provides pack-n-plays to families in need with infants.

Ducks Adopted

Adopt a duck to participate in the Duck Dash!

Adopt ducks for your chance to win one of our incredible prizes! The ducks will be released at 12pm on Oct. 12 near the head gates of the Augusta Canal and will race to the finish line near the pedestrian bridge. You do not need to be present to win – we will contact you if you are the proud owner of a winning duck!

Trunk or Treat

Bring your decked out car to participate in our Trunk or Treat. Non-profits and businesses are encouraged to participate. Don’t forget the candy!

Jeep Contest

Do you have a Jeep you are proud of? Prize categories for the Jeep Contest include Best Jeep in Show, Best Paint Job, Best Ducked Out, Best Decorated, and Most Rugged! There’s $30 fee for entry.

Costume Contest

We invite all kids to come in their scariest, prettiest, or most heroic costumes! There will be prizes for the Best Costumes. Sign up the day of the event!

Duck Dash 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run

Sign-up for the Augusta Duck Dash 5K or 1 Mile FUN RUN, sponsored by Fleet Feet! The Duck Dash 5K is a family-friendly, fun run or walk and not officially timed. Perfect for beginners! All participants are guaranteed a finisher medal and can add on a Duck Dash t-shirt for $15. Participants also receive ducks in the duck drop (1 duck per mile), which will race down the Augusta canal for a chance to win prizes! The race will begin at 9:00 AM.
