Keeping You Safe

Our “New Normal”

(July 1, 2021) For 163 years, and especially for the past year, the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta has been committed to providing members with a safe, clean place to work on their health and wellness. We are proud that through the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been 0 virus outbreaks attributed to any of our facilities.

As the virus continues to wain in our community, we want to thank you all for your diligence in following our safety procedures. It has been challenging to navigate the constant changes we’ve seen over the last year and a half, and you – our members – have been patient and attentive every step of the way. For that we are grateful.

The state of emergencies for both Georgia and South Carolina have now expired and our Y is ready to bring the community back together. COVID-19 cases in our area have dropped below what they were when we closed our doors last March, and we are thrilled to see more members returning to our Y.

As such, we are returning to a more normal state of operations at the Y. Our facilities are fully open and there are no restrictions on equipment or amenities. Safety guidelines for specific programs (like Summer Day Camp and Prime Time) can be found at here. Below, you’ll find a general overview of our current operations and our reservation policy. Please reach out to your local branch for questions or more information.

Our Commitment to Cleanliness

The exceptional cleaning standards that we are all accustomed to will not change. Our staff will continue to extensively clean all facilities, including the use of disinfectant foggers every night. We also ask our members to keep caring for each other by wiping down equipment before and after use, and washing their hands regularly.

As always, staff and members should be guided by our core values of being caring, honest, respectful and responsible.

Caring

Caring for others, yourself and our YMCA facility.

Honesty

Being truthful in what we say and do.

Respect

Treat others how you want to be treated.

Responsibility

Be accountable for your own health and actions.
