LEADERS IN TRAINING
Our “Leaders in Training” (LIT) program (13-15 years old) is a structured initiative designed to develop Christian leadership skills for Camp Lakeside alumni (overnight alumni given preference) with no behavior issues documented who are considered potential future leaders within Camp Lakeside. We provide training, mentorship, and practical experience while participating in an overnight camp. They will meet for one hour a day with our LIT Coordinator to complete the leadership curriculum. Some of their responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with and participating in activities, setting up and cleaning up program areas, and helping younger campers under the direct supervision of a camp counselor. The benefits of the LIT program include: developing life skills, building confidence, developing a sense of responsibility, improving communication skills, developing problem-solving skills, becoming active in the community, developing leadership characteristic traits, and real-world applications. The skills developed in our LIT program can be applied in and out of camp–character counts!
