Summer Day Camp

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta offers day camp programs across the CSRA at nine locations. Camp runs May through August, depending on the school calendar.

Our summer camps offer unforgettable experiences for your child. From arts and crafts, to swimming, to sports, there is something fun for all. Through our camps we offer a Summer Enrichment Program which focuses on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) activities for campers. Your child will have a memorable summer and make lifelong friendships at The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta!

Important information:

** $10 Non- refundable deposit must be paid for every week of camp per camper. The deposit will be credited towards that week’s fees once the child has attended.
** Cancellations must be made in writing 14 days (about 2 weeks) prior to the camp start date. Camp Fees will be drafted for any cancellations after the camp start date.
** Non- attendance does not entitle a refund

Camp Discovery: Steiner | Ages: 5-7

Camp Discovery: A camp for children aged 5-6 years.

Campers will enjoy weekly water days, arts and crafts, games, sports, and character development activities. Camp activities will run from 9am – 4pm.  Early drop off at 7:00 am and late pickup by 6:00 pm are available at no additional cost.

Breakfast, Lunch and a snack are provided. Breakfast is served between 7:00-8:30am. Campers are allowed to bring their own sack lunch and snack. Please no food that requires refrigeration or heating.  Campers will need to wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Campers will need to bring a bookbag with a towel, spray on sunscreen, and a change of clothes. A swimsuit and pool shoes will need to be brought in each Thursday, for Water Day. The Steiner YMCA splits our water day locations with the Thomson Y Pool and on site Splash Pad (Steiner Y Camp) or Water Slide and Water Games (Patriot’s Park). Please label all items with your child’s name. Each Thursday is Kona Ice Truck Day and campers must bring cash in a labeled zip lock bag by Wednesday to participate. Canteen Day is each Friday afternoon and include opportunities to buy juice boxes, chips, candy, etc. All items are 1.00 and go toward our annual fundraising campaign.

Camp Discovery will be held at two locations within Columbia County:

Steiner Family YMCA: 218 Partnership Drive, Grovetown, GA 30813 and Patriot’s Park at  5445 Columbia Rd, Grovetown, GA 30813

There will be no bus transporting among different locations.

Steiner Branch Family YMCA: Drop off (7-9am) and Pick up (4-6 pm) at Steiner Y will be in the front of the building inside the “Castle” room. Photo IDs are required everyday at pickup.

Patriot’s Park: Drop off (7-9am) and Pickup (4-6pm) will be “car-line” style beginning at the far left side of the front building. They will be checked in by a counselor while in their car, and another counselor will escort them inside/outside the building. Do not get out of your car or park. A car line visor sign will be given at registration at Steiner Branch and can be picked up before the campers first day if enrolled online. Photo IDs are required everyday at pickup.

Camp drop off and pick-up will be available at the Wilson Family YMCA and at Camp Lakeside. You will be able to choose your drop-off/pick-up location during registration.

DROP OFF
For the safety of staff and campers, campers may not be dropped off at the Family YMCA earlier than 7:00AM. Campers can be dropped off at Wilson Family YMCA 7:00AM to 8:00AM or Camp Lakeside from 7:00AM -9:00AM. Campers must be picked up at the same location that they were dropped off at, unless notification is given to Julie Prescott/Program Director via email [email protected] or text at (706) 836-9639. Campers being dropped off at the Wilson Y will ride the Y bus to Camp Lakeside. The bus will leave promptly at 8:10 AM.

PICK -UP
• Pick up is from 4:00– 6:00 PM at Camp Lakeside or Wilson Family YMCA
• A picture I.D. is required to pick up your camper!
• You must sign your child in/out with their counselor each day.
• Only authorized people listed on the Health History form will be allowed to pick up your child.
• Campers must be picked up by 6 PM in order to avoid a late fee.

A parent/camper handbook will be sent out 1 week prior to camp.  Please ensure the email is always up-to-date.

Steiner Branch Family YMCA: Drop off (7-9am) and Pick up (4-6 pm) at Steiner Y will be in the front of the building inside the “Clubhouse” room. Photo IDs are required everyday at pickup.

Patriot’s Park: Drop off (7-9am) and Pickup (4-6pm) will be “car-line” style beginning at the far left side of the front building. They will be checked in by a counselor while in their car, and another counselor will escort them inside/outside the building. Do not get out of your car or park. A car line visor sign will be given at registration at Steiner Branch and can be picked up before the campers first day if enrolled online. Photo IDs are required everyday at pickup.

Early drop off is at 7:00 am and the late pick-up is at 6:00 pm.

 

Camp drop off will be 7am to 9am. DROP OFF AFTER 9AM IS ONLY ALLOWED WITH A DOCTOR’S NOTE. We understand mornings can be hectic, though our cut off time is to ensure that we have the appropriate number of staff to campers. Pick up will be between the hours of 4pm to 6pm. You may arrange an early pick-up in advance with camp staff.

Lunch and a snack are provided. Campers are allowed to bring their own sack lunch and snack. Please no food that requires refrigeration or heating.

Campers will need to wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed athletic shoes. Campers will need to bring a bookbag with a towel, swimsuit, spray on sunscreen, water shoes, water bottle and a change of clothes. Please label all items with your child’s name.

A deposit of $10 per week for all weeks registered is due at registration.

Photo IDs are required everyday at pickup.

If you want to apply for financial assistance you will need to come in and complete the forms. You can still register online for camp.

The balance of camp will automatically be deducted 4 days before camp session starts. All payment is due no later than noon on Friday.
