What is Camp IVEY? 

Camp IVEY is a Family YMCA of Greater Augusta summer camp for children that have developmental delays. It is a one-week overnight camp for children ages 10 through 21. Camp IVEY’s mission is to promote communication, develop self-care skills and coordination, and create life-long memories through outdoor education and recreational fun in a safe, supportive environment at beautiful Camp Lakeside. 

We need patient and understanding volunteers. We are seeking those who love children and have a desire to build upon our camper’s strengths while encouraging them to be the most successful in all they do – the journey is the goal. 

We are looking for volunteers to commit to spending the week at camp, beginning Saturday, June 13th through Thursday June 18th 2026. The schedule of the week includes:
Staff  Training – Saturday June 13th 2026.  Camper drop off occurs between 4 PM and 6 PM on Sunday, June 14th 2026.
Campers depart on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 between 4-5 pm.
Camp Clean-Up and Staff Debrief on Thursday late afternoon.   

We are also looking for alumni volunteers to commit to spending the weekend at camp for our Camp IVEY Alumni Weekend (ages 18 and up) beginning Friday, August 14th through Sunday, August 16th, 2026.   The schedule of the weekend includes:
Alumni Volunteers arrive at 2 pm.
Camper drop off occurs Friday, August 14th between 4-5 pm.
Campers depart on Sunday, August 16th, 2026 between 10-11 am.
Camp Clean-Up and Staff Debrief immediately after departure.
